FAQ’S

PRESIDENT

The President oversees all chapter operations in alignment with the direction of the Guardians of the Children (GOC) International Board of Directors (IBOD), governing documents, and organizational mission. The President is responsible for leading chapter growth through member development, financial stability, community awareness, and expanding the number of children we are able to support. In this role, the goal is to build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement, child advocacy partners, and motorcycle clubs and organizations to ensure the purpose and goals of GOC are understood and respected. The President also serves as the primary liaison between the Big Sandy Chapter and the IBOD and Representatives to ensure consistent communication, accountability, and mission alignment.

I believe strong communities don’t happen by accident—they’re built by people who are willing to step up, serve, and lead when it matters most. I joined Guardians of the Children because I refuse to live in a world where abused children feel forgotten, blamed, or alone. No child ever deserves what happens to them, and it is our responsibility to be the steady rock in their storm—the kind of support that shows up consistently, without hesitation, and without conditions. My role is to protect, advocate, and stand beside them through the hardest moments of their lives, reminding them every step of the way that they are not broken… and what happened to them was never their fault. We are the protectors, and I take that responsibility personally.

VICE PRESIDENT

The Vice President supports the President and Chapter leadership and assumes all duties and authority of the President when the President is absent, unavailable, or unable to act, subject to the same powers and restrictions. The Vice President assists with Chapter growth, member development, and operational leadership to ensure continued mission alignment and performance standards. This role is also responsible for ordering and tracking all Chapter patches, maintaining accurate records of patches received and issued, and keeping leadership informed of current patch inventory. The Vice President also oversees incoming probationary members, supports training and development, and helps ensure all members meet and exceed Chapter expectations and standards of service.

I was introduced to Guardians of the Children by family, and I immediately fell in love with the mission: to serve local communities by standing alongside victims of tragedy. During my probation period, I was taught leadership, organizational structure, and how to be a positive influence. I believe in a better tomorrow, and that starts with today’s youth. I refuse to stand by while silenced, intimidated, and forgotten children go unsupported. My role is not only to provide strength and stability to the minors we serve, but also to educate the public on current issues. No matter the outcome…not victims, but victors.

SERGEANT AT ARMS

The Sergeant at Arms (SAA) is responsible for maintaining order, safety, and protocol at all meetings, events, and assemblies. This role safeguards Chapter members, functions, and property entrusted to the position and performs duties as assigned by the President and the GOC IBOD and Ambassadors. The SAA supports secure and professional event operations by establishing perimeters and appointing security support when appropriate. The role promotes and enforces proper motorcycle club (MC) protocol standards and provides protocol training for new and current members. The SAA serves as a mission advocate and conducts background and affiliation reviews of prospective members leaving other organizations or clubs, including obtaining written status information when available, to support informed membership decisions. The position prioritizes the protection and integrity of the Chapter and its leadership while maintaining strong working relationships with motorcycle clubs and partner organizations.

I joined Guardian’s of the Children, Big Sandy Chapter (GOC) in 2022 after finding them at an event called Boyd Bash. I knew I wanted to join to help make a difference. I enjoy bringing confidence for the Lil’ Guardians to speak up and freely, security that we will stand beside all of our Lil’ Guardians when they need us the most, and protection to every single Lil’ Guardian we serve. 

I have stayed with Guardian’s of the Children, Big Sandy Chapter for so long as it’s given me a sense of community, commitment, and a purpose to do more.

SECRETARY & CHILD LIAISON

The Secretary serves as the official records custodian and is responsible for maintaining the Chapter’s governing documents. The Secretary records and maintains accurate minutes of all Chapter and committee meetings, including meeting details, attendance, notices, and proceedings. This role maintains the official membership roster, including member status changes and termination dates, and ensures Chapter records, minutes, and governing documents are available for authorized review when required. The Secretary manages Chapter paperwork and documentation systems and maintains both electronic and hard-copy records for accuracy and redundancy. The Secretary also tracks Chapter events and attendance, provides monthly reporting to the Board, and maintains records related to patches issued and patch dates to support accurate membership and recognition tracking.

The Child Liaison serves as the primary coordination point between the Chapter and referred children and families, ensuring consistent, calm, and mission-appropriate support throughout the life of each case. Child Liaisons conduct initial intake meetings with assigned members, gather and document case and contact information, assign primary and secondary member contacts, and coordinate ongoing Chapter involvement until the case is resolved, the child reaches adulthood, or support is no longer requested. The Child Liaison maintains regular contact with the family, provides status updates to Chapter leadership, tracks relevant court or case milestones, and ensures all information is handled with strict privacy and confidentiality. This role requires sound judgment, professionalism, and mandatory reporting compliance where required by law.

I joined Guardians of the Children in 2022 because I believe no child should ever be left voiceless. I felt called to do more than everyday life and to be part of something that truly matters. I strive to be a calm presence and a listening ear for families, offering steady support when things feel overwhelming and uncertain. I am proud to ride for the cause alongside my GOC family, knowing the work we do together provides strength, presence, and protection for children who need it most. My goal is to ensure no child or family ever walks this journey alone.

TREASURER

The Treasurer serves as the financial steward and is responsible for the custody, deposit, and disbursement of all Chapter funds in approved financial institutions. The Treasurer maintains accurate and complete financial records, including assets, liabilities, receipts, and expenditures, to ensure transparency, proper fund usage, and protection of the organization’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The Treasurer prepares and certifies financial statements, submits quarterly treasury reports to the GOC IBOD and Representatives, and provides monthly financial reports to the Big Sandy Chapter Board. The role includes tracking event-level financial performance, ensuring funds are properly utilized in alignment with the mission, and making financial records available for authorized review.

I joined Guardians of the Children, Big Sandy Chapter (GOC) because I wanted to be surrounded by people who wholeheartedly believe in doing their part to make the world a better place. I wanted to be with others whose hearts are set on standing up for kids who are scared, hurting, and voiceless, people who don’t just talk about making a difference, but live it every day. I wanted to contribute to something bigger than myself: a mission rooted in courage, compassion, and action.

Why I stayed is because through the years, as I showed up for the Lil’ Guardians, offering support, companionship, encouragement, and a listening ear, I found a form of healing in myself I didn’t know I needed. In helping those kids reclaim confidence and joy in their lives, I started to find peace and strength within my own. The laughter, resilience, and bravery of these young people transformed me, just as much as I hope we’ve touched them.

GOC has been more than a chapter I joined; it has been a purpose I stepped into and a family I chose. It has shown me that healing can be shared and strength multiplies when we ride together, not just on the open road, but in the journey toward compassion, justice, and hope.
